We have enjoyed staying at the Posada Santiago for the past 2 Guatemala workshops. Rising from the shore of Lake Atitlán, the Posada de Santiago is built from the re-assembled stones excavated from this gently sloping avocado grove. Coffee grows in the shade of the avocado trees and is served in the restaurant (or in your room). The altitude, about a mile above sea level, provides the ideal climate for a wide variety of lush tropical vegetation to flourish. The accommodations consist of a variety of cottages.
