Alderwood Middle School is located in Lynnwood, WA, just north of the city of Seattle. This public school includes grades 6-8, or students from the ages of 10-14. A core part of the vision of Alderwood Middle School is to help students attain academic excellence while growing developmental responsiveness and supporting social equity.  

This year, 76 students in an 8th grade US History class will participate in the Bridges to Understanding project. Their teacher, who loves see students get excited about learning, hopes that her students will learn to appreciate other cultures through their partnership with the Tibetan Children’s Village. She also hopes this partnership will help her students gain perspective about their lives and the challenges others face.
