Aki Kurose Middle School Academy is a collaborative learning community that strengthens academic achievement through an emphasis on respect, building relationships between the community and us and integrating our curriculum. We are also committed to ensuring that every student feels safe in school and becomes a life-long learner.
Students at Aki Kurose created four digital stories in their classrooms this year, about how they relate to climate change and other environmental issues. Big Cities: How do big cities contribute to global warming? What are we doing about it? (note: there is a small technical problem at the beginning of this story - please keep watching, we don't know how to fix it, and it goes away after the first few seconds) | Garbage: From worm bins to lunch ladies, one group tells how they feel about the problems with garbage. | Processed vs. Organic food: A story about processed and organic food...are they opposite? Which is better? | Transportation: One group in the class reflects on how we all get around town, how much energy it uses, and how they compare to the students in their partner class at Linnaea School.
