About Us
The Bridges Collaborative Model
Students in a Face to Face workshop at Washington Middle School 2006

The Bridges Collaborative Model symbolizes the areas of Bridges’ work and how they overlap and support each other. Our Seattle-area teachers are directly supported by Bridges staff and local volunteers in their classrooms, receive training in our Seattle workshops, and find community and support in regular meetings with the other local Bridges teachers.  Our international workshops provide training to our international sites’ teachers and students, and to volunteer mentors who travel with us. International sites are also supported through regular emails from both Bridges staff and Bridges Seattle teachers, and through conference calls, and when feasible, video conferencing. Our Seattle and International teachers work together through their classroom collaborative projects. All areas of our work come together in the web site, our shared learning and knowledge, the digital stories created by the Bridges students, and our annual face-to-face exchange.
